Keeplet app: frequently asked questions
This page collects the most frequently asked questions about the Keeplet app for Android and iPhone, each with a short answer and a link to the article that explains everything in detail. The app uses the words "notes" and "cards"; for the website see also the website frequently asked questions.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to create an account to use the app?
No. The app works right away, without signing up, and your data stays on your phone. An account is for having a copy on the server, using the same data on another phone or on the website, and for some features, like importing from Anki. See Use the Keeplet app without an account.
What do I risk if I don't create an account?
Without an account your data exists only on your phone: if you lose it, change phones or uninstall the app, it cannot be recovered. You can save your progress whenever you want from the Profile, with Save your progress: see Save your progress.
Why do my cards start again as new after I create an account?
When the guest data is uploaded, the review values (next review date, interval, number of reviews) are reset: notebooks, notes and cards are kept, the reviews already done are not. It is explained in Save your progress.
How do I create a card?
Highlight a sentence in a note (press and hold a word, drag and tap Create card) and write the question, or use the plus button. See How to create a card by highlighting text and How to create a card with the + button.
Can I review without a connection?
Yes. Review works offline: ratings stay queued on your phone and are sent as soon as the network returns, if you have an account. See Review offline.
How do ratings work, and can I fix a wrong rating?
After flipping the card, choose between Not at all, A little, Fairly well and Perfectly: the better you remembered it, the further away the next review. A rating you have just given can be undone. See Rate a card and How to undo a rating during review.
How many cards does the app give me each day?
As many as your daily goal says (15 if you don't change it). You choose it in the Profile, under Preferences, from 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50. See The Today screen and Theme, language and daily goal.
How do I get a reminder, and what if it doesn't arrive?
In the Profile, Reminder section, turn on Review reminder and choose the Time. The notification only arrives on days when you have cards to review. See Set a review reminder and, if it doesn't arrive, Reminder not arriving.
Is there a widget?
Yes, a Home screen widget that shows today's cards and opens your review. You add it from your phone's widget menu by searching for "Keeplet": see How to add the Keeplet widget to your Home screen.
How big can a notebook be?
Up to 250 items, notes and cards together, with at most 1000 characters per text. See App limits.
How do I see whether my data is safe on my account?
In the Profile the Saving row says All saved or how many changes are left to send. See How sync works in the Keeplet app and, if something is wrong, Keeplet app data not syncing.
Can I use the same account on the website and in the app?
Yes: notebooks, notes, cards and review state are the same. Theme, reminders and some writing and review features are separate. See Use the app and the website together.
Can I import Anki cards or a shared notebook?
Yes, with an account. From the Profile, Data section, you find Import from Anki (.txt text file) and Add a shared notebook (link or code). See Import an Anki deck and How to add a shared notebook in the Keeplet app.
How do I find something I wrote?
With the app's search, which looks in notebooks, notes and cards from 2 letters on: see How to search notebooks, notes and cards in the app.
How do I see the apps connected to my account, like Wonderlet?
In the Profile, Connections section, Connected apps row: there you see them and remove them with Revoke. Wonderlet's connection starts from Wonderlet: see Connect Wonderlet.
How do I delete my account?
From the Profile, Account section, tap Delete account and confirm with Delete forever: everything is deleted, on the website too, and it cannot be undone. Without an account there is nothing to delete on the server. See How to delete your account in the Keeplet app.
