Theme, language and daily goal in the app
In the Keeplet app for Android and iPhone you change theme, language and daily goal from the Profile tab, in the Preferences section: tap the row, pick a value from the list and the change takes effect immediately. It works without an account and without a connection.
Before you start
Preferences appear in Profile for everyone, with or without an account. Each row shows the chosen value and, when tapped, opens a list with a check mark and the word Selected next to the current value.
Steps
- Open the Profile tab.
- In the Preferences section, tap the row you want to change: Theme, Language, Daily goal or Anonymous statistics.
- Tap the value you prefer. The list closes and the row shows your new choice.
How do I change the theme?
At the Theme row you find three options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| System | Follows the system's light or dark theme (this is the initial choice) |
| Light | Always the light theme |
| Dark | Always the dark theme |
The theme stays on your phone only: it isn't saved to your account and doesn't change the Keeplet website's theme.
How do I change the language?
At the Language row you can choose System, Italiano or English. With System the app speaks Italian if your phone is in Italian, and English for any other phone language.
When you change language, the texts of the reminder notification and of the widget change immediately too. If you have an account, your choice is also sent to the server: when you sign in on another phone or on the website, you find the account's language.
How do I change the daily goal?
At the Daily goal row you choose the maximum number of cards you want per day in Today: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50 cards. If you change nothing, it is 15. The number you choose decides how many cards the Today screen offers you and how many the reminder counts, as explained in The Today screen in the Keeplet app.
With an account the goal is also saved on the server, so you find it on the website (which offers the same six choices). If there is no network, it applies immediately on the phone and is sent as soon as possible. When you sign in to an existing account, the account's goal wins.
What are Anonymous statistics?
The Anonymous statistics row (values On or Off) decides whether the app may measure, anonymously, whether you create cards and whether you come back to review them. The app states that it never reads the text of your cards and notes, or your name or email.
- After your first completed review, when you go back to Today, the app asks for your consent with two equally prominent buttons: Accept and No, thanks. Until then no event is sent.
- You can change your mind any time from Profile, by tapping Anonymous statistics and choosing On or Off.
- If you don't see the row, your version of the app doesn't have the measurement enabled: in that case nothing is sent.
For details, read the privacy policy, which you find under About in Profile.
Frequently asked questions
Does the dark theme change on the website too?
No. The app's theme and the website's theme are separate settings: the app's theme stays on your phone.
Why is the app in English if my phone is in Italian?
Check the Language row: if it is set to English, the app stays in English even with the phone in Italian. Choose System or Italiano.
Can I choose a goal of 25 cards?
Not from the app: the choices are 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50. If the account already has a different value, for example set from another device, you still see it in the list and can keep it.
If I decline anonymous statistics, does the app still work?
Yes, everything works the same. Consent is only for the anonymous measurement.
