Daily goal and streak in Keeplet
On the Keeplet website the daily goal is the number of cards you want to review in a day: it starts at 15 and you change it in Settings › Preferences › Daily goal. The streak counts the consecutive days on which you did at least one review, and you read it in Statistics.
How do I change the goal?
- Open Settings from the left menu (on a phone, the Profile tab) and go to the Preferences section.
- Press the Daily goal row: under the title you see "How many cards to review each day." and on the right the current value, for example "15 cards".
- In the window choose 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50 cards. The choice is saved immediately, with no confirmation button.
If saving fails you see "Couldn't save the goal. Try again." and the previous value stays. The goal is saved in your account.
What changes in review?
The number of cards in a session is the goal minus the cards you have already reviewed today, with a minimum of 1. For example, with a goal of 15 and 6 cards already done, the session offers 9 cards. On the Home page, if you have more cards due than the goal, the card at the top says "Today you review 9 of 20" and gives a time estimate, "About 5 minutes."
The cards counted are the different cards reviewed today, according to your browser's time zone: if you review the same card twice, it counts once toward the goal.
What happens when I reach the goal?
The Home page says "Today's goal reached." and, if you still have cards due, "8 left: you can keep going." The button becomes Continue: it offers you another full round, with as many cards as the goal says.
Note: if you reach the goal and then open review from the To review item in the menu, the session offers just one card, because the goal minus the cards already reviewed is zero and the minimum is 1. For another full round use Continue on the Home page.
What is the streak?
The streak is the number of consecutive days with at least one review, up to today. If you have not reviewed yet today, it counts up to yesterday, so it does not reset until you skip a whole day. One card is enough to keep it: you do not need to reach the goal. When the streak reaches 3, 7, 14, 30, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 or 365 days Keeplet sends you a notification ("7 days in a row"), once per milestone: you find it in the notification center and, with push notifications on, on your device.
You find the streak on the Statistics page, in the number labeled "in a row" with the note "with at least one review a day". You also see it on the Home page ("3-day streak", when the streak is at least 1) and on the Done for today. screen at the end of a session ("Streak: 3 days in a row."). See How to read your statistics in Keeplet.
Frequently asked questions
Is the goal a limit I cannot exceed?
No, it is a guide for the session. After reaching it you can continue with Continue, and you can raise it at any time.
Why did I choose a goal but the session has fewer cards?
You probably have fewer cards due than the goal, or you have already reviewed some today. The session offers only the cards that are due.
Where do I see the streak?
In Statistics, in the number labeled "in a row", and on the Home page under today's goal. If you reviewed yesterday or today, the number is not zero.
Does the goal also apply in the app for Android and iPhone?
The goal is saved in your account, and the app also has its own setting: read Theme, language and daily goal in the app.
