The Keeplet sample space in 30 seconds
On the Keeplet website the Sample space is a trial space that appears by itself the first time you open the Home page: it contains the notebook Keeplet in 30 seconds, with a welcome note and 4 flashcards, and lets you try a real review without writing anything. You can edit or delete it whenever you like.
When is it created?
Keeplet creates the sample space when you open the Home page and two things are true: you have not yet completed or skipped the initial tutorial, and you only have the General space (Generale if you signed up in Italian), meaning no space created by you. If you already have a space of your own, it is not created. The text of the example is in the language you are using at that moment, Italian or English.
What does it contain?
| Item | What it is about |
|---|---|
| One note | The welcome: how to write in the block editor |
| Flashcard 1 | How long it takes to make a flashcard |
| Flashcard 2 | A cloze exercise: the hidden term is 70% |
| Flashcard 3 | How to rate a card |
| Flashcard 4 | What to do after your first review |
They are normal cards: you review them, they count in the statistics and you can edit them like your own. To rate them on the website use the Not at all, A little, Somewhat and Great buttons (or keys 1 to 4). The answer to the third card talks about swiping with your finger: on a touch screen it really works (right = Remembered, left = Didn't remember), see How to review on your phone with swipe.
How do I try it?
- Open the Home page. The guided tutorial walks you from a space to the notebook to the editor.
- At the end of the tutorial the Ready for your first review? window appears. Press Start review to do a 4-card session right away, or Later.
- If you choose Later, review stays available: on the Home page press Start review. New cards are due right away.
- To read the notebook, open Sample space from the left menu and then the Keeplet in 30 seconds card.
The complete path, from the first note to review, is in Your first Keeplet notebook in 5 minutes.
How do I delete it?
In the left menu press the three dots next to Sample space, choose Delete and confirm with Yes, delete. The notebook, the note and the 4 cards are deleted too, and the operation cannot be undone. It is not a protected space like Generale.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see the sample space?
Because you have already created a space of your own, or you already completed or skipped the tutorial before opening the Home page. In those cases Keeplet does not create it. To try Keeplet, create your own notebook: How to create a notebook in Keeplet.
Can I make it reappear after deleting it?
No, there is no command to recreate it. The Restart tutorial button (on a computer, at the bottom right) repeats the guided tour, but does not recreate the space.
Do the sample cards count in the statistics?
Yes, they are flashcards like the others: the reviews you do appear in the statistics and grow the day streak. See How to read your statistics in Keeplet.
Is there a sample space in the app for Android and iPhone?
The app has its own starting path, different from this one. Read The Today screen in the Keeplet app.
