# Keeplet limits and supported formats

Applies to: website · Last updated: 2026-10-30

On the Keeplet website a notebook holds at most 250 blocks, notes and flashcards combined; a counter appears from the 200th block. This page lists the other limits and the file formats the website accepts or produces, so you know in advance where Keeplet stops.

## Content

| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Blocks per notebook | 250, notes and flashcards combined. The counter, for example "212 / 250", appears from block 200. At the limit Keeplet shows "You have reached the maximum of 250 blocks per notebook" |
| Spaces and notebooks | No maximum number: the limit applies to the content of each notebook |
| Text of a block | Up to 1000 characters per field (note, question and answer), formatting included |
| Space name | 50 characters in the menu field; the database goes up to 100 |
| Notebook name | Up to 100 characters |
| Undo (Ctrl+Z) in the editor | The last 20 actions on deleted or merged blocks |
| Search | At most 50 results, most recent first |

The 250 limit applies only to new additions: a notebook that already has more blocks loses nothing, but cannot receive more. It also applies when you move blocks, copy a shared notebook or import a file.

## Review

| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Cards per session | The daily goal minus the cards you already reviewed today, minimum 1 |
| Daily goal | 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50 cards; default 15 |
| Undo a rating | For 3 seconds after you rate |
| Active mode | Up to 10 words of at least 4 characters in the reorder exercise |

## Account

| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| First and last name at sign-up | 2 to 50 characters each |
| Email | Up to 100 characters |
| Password | At least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number; the rule also applies on the server and in the app |
| Profile photo | Any image: the website shrinks it to 256 px before uploading it |
| Sign-in | After many attempts in a short time you see "Too many requests. Please wait a few minutes before trying again." |

## Sharing, import and export

| What | Limit or format |
|---|---|
| Share link | Read-only, valid for 7 days from creation, revocable with **Revoke link** |
| Anki import | A `.txt` text file exported from Anki as "Notes in Plain Text (*.txt)", at most about 1 MB of text (one million characters) |
| Cards per import | Up to 2500 per file, split into notebooks of 250: "Name", "Name (2)" and so on |
| Cards skipped in the import | Those with an empty front or back, or longer than 1000 characters; images are not imported |
| Imported notebook name | The file name, up to 90 characters; if there is none, "Import Anki" |
| Export | **JSON** or **CSV** (Excel-compatible), with flashcards and their review data only, not notes |
| Claude connector | Up to 50 notes or flashcards per request, with names of 90 characters at most |
| Wonderlet | Only creates flashcards, in its own notebook; the 250-block limit applies, and when the notebook is full it adds no more cards ([Connect Wonderlet](/en/help/web/connect-wonderlet)) |

## Frequently asked questions

### What do I do when a notebook is full?

Create another notebook and move some of the blocks there: see [How to move notes and flashcards to another notebook](/en/help/web/move-notes-between-notebooks). A full notebook appears as "Full: 250 items out of 250" in the list of destinations.

### Why is my Anki file rejected?

Check that it is a `.txt` file of "Notes in Plain Text" and that it does not exceed about one million characters (about 1 MB of text). If it does, the website says "The file is too large: about 1 MB of text at most" and you should split the deck into smaller files. See [How to import an Anki deck into Keeplet](/en/help/web/import-an-anki-deck).

### Does the share link expire?

Yes, 7 days after creation; you can revoke it earlier. To share again, create a new link: [How to share a notebook with a link in Keeplet](/en/help/web/share-a-notebook-with-a-link).

### Where do I find the limits of the app?

The Keeplet app for Android and iPhone has its own limits. Read [Keeplet app limits](/en/help/app/app-limits) and the other pages of the app guide.
