# How to delete your Keeplet account

Applies to: website · Last updated: 2026-10-29

On the Keeplet website you delete your account from **Settings › Account**: click **Delete** in the **Delete account** row and confirm with **Yes, delete**. If you can't sign in, you can request deletion by emailing privacy@keeplet.app. In both cases the operation is permanent and cannot be undone.

## Before you start

If you want to keep your cards, export them first: see [How to export your data](/en/help/web/export-your-data). The account is the same for the website and the app: deleting it from the website also removes the data you see in the Keeplet app for Android and iPhone.

## Steps

1. Sign in to Keeplet and open **Settings** (on a phone, tap **Profile** in the bottom bar).
2. Scroll to the bottom, to the **Account** section.
3. In the **Delete account** row ("Permanently delete your account and all your data.") click **Delete**.
4. The window "Do you want to delete your account?" opens. Read the warning: "Deletion is permanent and will remove all notes, flashcards and settings."
5. If you like, download your data first with the **JSON** link under "Before deleting, you can export your data:".
6. Click **Yes, delete**. To back out, click **Cancel**.
7. "Account deleted successfully." appears and you are signed out.

## What gets deleted?

Deletion starts immediately and removes the following from Keeplet's servers:

- your profile: name, email address and photo, if present;
- all the spaces, notebooks, notes and flashcards you created;
- your review history and spaced repetition data;
- your account settings and notification tokens;
- the sharing links of your notebooks, which stop working;
- connections with external apps such as Claude (see [Manage connected apps](/en/help/web/manage-connected-apps)).

Deletion does not remove your Google or Apple account, which belong to you and stay as they were.

## How do I delete my account without signing in?

Email **privacy@keeplet.app** from the email address you used to create the account, with the subject "Account deletion". Keeplet deletes the account and the related data within 30 days and replies once it is done. This is the right route if you have lost access and can't recover it (see [Sign-in and password problems](/en/help/web/sign-in-and-password-problems)).

The official page with the same instructions, which also applies to the app, is [keeplet.app/delete-account](/delete-account).

## Can I go back?

No. After deletion the data cannot be recovered. You can always create a new account with the same email address, but you will start from scratch.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to uninstall anything?

If you only use the website, no. If you also have the app and you used Keeplet without an account, the data is on your phone and is erased by uninstalling the app: read [Delete your account from the app](/en/help/app/delete-your-account).

### I created my account with Google or Apple. Does anything change?

No, the procedure is the same and you are not asked for any password: you just need to be signed in.

### What happens to notifications and reminder emails?

They end with the account: notification tokens are deleted and you no longer receive emails. If you only want to stop receiving them, turn off the switches in [Email reminders and push notifications](/en/help/web/email-reminders-and-push-notifications).
