# How to connect Keeplet to Claude

Applies to: website · Last updated: 2026-11-01

To connect the Keeplet website to Claude, open claude.ai, go to **Settings › Connectors**, choose **Add custom connector** and paste the address `https://api.keeplet.app/api/mcp`. Claude takes you to Keeplet: sign in and click **Allow**. From then on Claude can read your notebooks, create new ones and tell you what to review, but it cannot delete anything.

## Before you start

You need a Keeplet account and a Claude plan that allows custom connectors. The connector is free for all Keeplet users. The official page with the same instructions is [keeplet.app/claude-connector](/claude-connector).

## Steps

1. Open Claude at **claude.ai** and go to **Settings › Connectors**.
2. Choose **Add custom connector**.
3. Paste the address `https://api.keeplet.app/api/mcp` and confirm.
4. Claude takes you to Keeplet. If you are not signed in yet, sign in.
5. On the authorization page (the title carries the app name, for example "Connect Claude to Keeplet"), check what Claude will be able to do and click **Allow**. If you click **Deny**, nothing is connected. If the title instead starts with "An app on" followed by an address, Keeplet has not verified the app and the name it gives may be false: click **Allow** only if you recognize the address and started the connection yourself.

Connectors added from claude.ai also appear in the Claude phone app, where you turn them on inside a conversation.

## What can Claude do with Keeplet?

The connector gives Claude the tools below. You can ask Claude to use them in your own words, without knowing their names.

| What it does | Tool name | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Lists spaces and notebooks, with the number of notes and flashcards | `keeplet_list_spaces` | Read |
| Shows a space or the content of a notebook | `keeplet_get_space`, `keeplet_get_notebook` | Read |
| Shows a note or a flashcard | `keeplet_get_note` | Read |
| Searches for text in notes and flashcards (up to 50 results) | `keeplet_search` | Read |
| Lists the flashcards due for review, optionally for one space or notebook only (up to 50) | `keeplet_due_flashcards` | Read |
| Shows review statistics and the history of a flashcard's latest reviews | `keeplet_review_stats`, `keeplet_review_history` | Read |
| Creates spaces and notebooks | `keeplet_create_space`, `keeplet_create_notebook` | Write |
| Adds up to 50 notes or flashcards at once | `keeplet_create_notes` | Write |
| Changes the text of a note, or the question and answer of a flashcard | `keeplet_update_note` | Write |
| Renames spaces and notebooks | `keeplet_rename_space`, `keeplet_rename_notebook` | Write |
| Moves a note to another notebook | `keeplet_move_note` | Write |

Keeplet's limits apply to Claude too: at most 250 blocks per notebook, 1000 characters per text and 90 characters for names. The text Claude writes is always plain text, with no formatting.

## What can't Claude do?

- **Delete** spaces, notebooks, notes or flashcards: the connector has no delete functions.
- **Record your reviews**: it can tell you what to review, but you give the ratings yourself on the website or in the app.
- See or change other people's data: it accesses only your account, and only after you authorize it.

## What can I ask Claude?

Example requests:

- "Create a notebook from this text with 20 flashcards."
- "What do I need to review today?"
- "Add a note to my biology notebook."

What Claude reads becomes part of the conversation: ask it to look only at what you are happy to share with it.

## How do I disconnect Claude?

On the website, open **Settings › Connections** and click **Revoke** next to Claude: see [Manage connected apps](/en/help/web/manage-connected-apps). You can also remove the connector from Claude. To use it again you will have to connect it again.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the connector free?

Yes, for all Keeplet users. What you need separately is a Claude plan that allows custom connectors.

### Does it also work from the Claude phone app?

Yes. Add the connector from claude.ai: you will then find it in the Claude app, where you turn it on in a conversation.

### Can Claude delete my notebooks by mistake?

No: the connector has no tool for deleting. It can, however, change the text of an existing note, so check the changes you ask it to make.

### Does Claude create flashcards with artificial intelligence on behalf of Keeplet?

Keeplet does not generate cards with AI: Claude creates them, at your request, using the connector's tools.

### Can I use the connector with the Keeplet app?

The connection is tied to your account, so it applies to both the website and the app. In the app you manage it in [Connections in the app](/en/help/app/connected-apps-claude).
